ChatGPT is one of the most useful tools on the internet, which is exactly why people say so much weird shit about it.

Some people think it reads the entire web every time they ask a question. Some people think it remembers everything forever. Some think it never lies. Some think it is secretly stealing every file, owning every image, replacing every expert, and preparing to ruin every dinner party with a six-paragraph answer about productivity.

The truth is less dramatic and way more useful.

ChatGPT is not magic. It is not a brain in a box. It is not a search engine by default. It is not a lawyer, doctor, therapist, accountant, business partner, or psychic. It is a powerful AI system that can help you think, write, learn, plan, analyze, create, and move faster when you understand what it can and cannot do.

That is the whole game.

The people who use ChatGPT well are not the people who believe the hype. They are the people who understand the tool clearly enough to use it with judgment.

So let’s clear the fog.
